Andy

Harris

Baritone

Andy has enjoying singing from an early age, and was a member of his primary school choir, secondary school choir, and a founding member of the Jersey Boys Choir in his youth.

Having given up singing when he reached puberty, Andy rediscovered his love of singing in his early thirties thanks to a Highlands College adult education evening class run by Hugh Lincè, which inspired Andy to join The Harmony Men as a Top Tenor, and get involved in Amateur Dramatics, where he has performed for the Jersey Amateur Dramatic Club, the Jersey Gilbert and Sullivan Society, Timpanali productions and the Samarez Players.

Andy started vocal training in 2016 with Liz Shea, and these days, continues to develop his voice under the tutelage of Gitte-Maj Donoghue and Jane Highfield.

During his more than 10 years as a singer in The Harmony Men, Andy has transferred from the Top Tenors to the Baritone section, then on to the Bass section, and tends to sing predominantly Baritone/Bass these days, though is known to occasionally dabble in Tenor Territory!

Andy likes to boast that he once performed ‘God Save the Queen’ on stage in front of a live audience of circa 40,000 people in 2007, though if pressed for more information, will admit that he was one of around 100 people on stage, and it was sheer luck that led to his participation in this memorable experience.
