Nigel

Warwick-Brown

Bass

Nigel’s love of singing all started as a chorister at Wells Cathedral. Following this, he continued to sing in the cathedral school choir until A levels and then in choirs while at medical school in London.

For nearly 30 years he lived and worked as a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat/Head and Neck Surgeon in South Essex, and during this time sang with the Gaudeamus Chamber Choir and Southend Festival Chorus. Highlights with Gaudeamus included tours to Cologne, Vienna and Paris, along with visits to local churches and Chelmsford and Norwich Cathedrals. With Southend Festival Chorus, he participated in two Armistice Concerts in Ypres Cathedral and tours to Rouen and Durham, along with many concerts at local venues.

Nigel is a violinist and for some years played in the Southend Symphony Orchestra. More recently he became involved with early music and was a member of a local viol consort (treble and tenor viols).

Since he retired 10 years ago, Nigel has lived in Jersey for the last 3 years (being married to a Jersey Girl!). He is a member of the Amity Singers and Jersey Festival Choir (recently elected as President). He also regularly sings with St Thomas’s Church Choir. It is now a great pleasure for him to join the Jersey Chamber Choir and he looks forward to taking part with a group of such accomplished singers.
